Control Freak.

God is SO cool.

My life has been a little...crazy...lately.

There was the fact that our church was moving buildings. It was a huge stress for me for many weeks. Last Sunday was our last service in the old building, and it was actually kind of great. The band played extra long, and the music was really fun. A little odd, of course, but that's just who we are at CP. We had cake and I even talked my Grandma into bringing all of her binders of church history and photos to show people. Jon managed to snap a couple of blackmail photos to use against current PLBC students out of those...

Yesterday, I spent a few hours with Doug, my pastor, sorting through some stuff from the old building and moving it into the new building. It was cathartic, in a way. Out with the old, in with the new.

We even believe that we discovered a new spiritual gift! It falls under the gift of discernment.

It is the spiritual gift of throwing crap out.

Yes, we're brilliant.

Then there were other things going on in my life. Some were just stressful. Others are still a little stressful, but also kind of exciting and awesome.

Anyways, back to the fact that God is freaking AMAZING!

I was sitting there one night talking to God. I asked Him for a sign from Him that I, ever the skeptic, would understand and that it would be super clear. I didn't really believe that anything was going to happen, but then He reminded me of a story that I had heard quite awhile ago from someone who asked for a sign from God, the same way that I was. Originally, when I had heard the story, I didn't believe it in the least. God  put the thought in my head, and I got out of bed, and recreated the key element of that story. It was in that moment that God did something SO COOL! He gave me a sign TWICE in a row. I then started to doubt what had happened, and tried to recreate it on my own (for over an hour!), but I couldn't. It was just the coolest thing.

It was just another reminder that whatever happens in my life....with the church, with school, with other important things going on...God is in control. He cares about the little things enough to give me a stupid sign that He really didn't have to. He loves us so much, and He will be there to rejoice with us when things go well and pick up the pieces when they don't.

I am a control freak, but I'm learning every day how to trust Him more. There are a lot of things that I am currently seeking God on, and I'm nervous about letting go and letting Him do his thing. It's a process, but I'm excited for the future. God is in control, and he loves me SO much. That's my thought of the day.
